Overview

This unique film invites the viewer into a comfortable family home in 1930s rural Kent. A mother, a child and a terrier, walk through a bluebell wood before returning to a large house. A variety of domestic scenes follow including a walk through the house, with the mother showing off the family's antiques - including Chinese porcelains and a Toby Jug collection. We also see family get-togethers in the garden though the grandfather doesn't seem to approve of the women smokers.

This collection of family films created by Eric Norman in the 1930s and 1940s include domestic scenes of the family displaying their home and its contents - an aspect of home movie making that is comparitively rare. Other films show the family socialising -on walks, at get-togethers and on their holidays travelling through Europe. The collection also provides views of several industrial working scenes of the Norcon Works in Chichester along with a football match featuring Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (Wolves) at Molineaux Stadium; their home ground.
