Attack on a China Mission - Bluejackets to the Rescue
Fictional treatment of a contemporary atrocity story from the 1900 Boxer rebellion in China.
Overview
James Williamson's fictional account of an attack on a Christian mission house by Boxer rebels was made in two versions. The first used a single camera position to show the attack on the missionaries outside their house. Soon after, he added scenes at the beginning to show the arrival of the Boxers and cut a reverse shot into the middle to show the rescue by British navy forces.
