Rose of Nevada

Many years after the Rose of Nevada fishing boat disappeared, it mysteriously returns to its old harbour in a Cornish village. Two young men join its crew, hoping to pull themselves out of hardship. But when the Rose docks once more, the men realise they have slipped back in time. Mistaken for the original crew, they are burdened with the unresolved grief of a community desperate for answers.

Shot on 16mm with post-dubbed sound, Cornish auteur Mark Jenkin’s film is his most sprawling and ambitious to date, but remains firmly rooted in the themes, communities and distinctive filmmaking practices that have marked him out as one of the UK’s most singular and important filmmakers.
