A beautiful and incisive documentary capturing the fight for better working conditions at a quarry in Burkina Faso.
Set in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, this documentary puts a stark spotlight on the dire working conditions of the labourers in a granite quarry. On the margins of a society that refuses to see them, the film centres them as they revolt against the slaveholder-like terms of their employment resulting in a moving, visually stunning rendition of the Baloé quarry and its polemical characters.
