Overview
On the surface, Esther has it all: a promising career, a steady boyfriend and a bustling social life. But an accident at a party triggers something deep within and she begins to unpick her life in graphic detail.
For writer, director and lead actor Marina de Van, her debut feature was deeply personal. Inspired by her own experiences, she invites us to view Esther’s actions – however gruesome – through her eyes, with sympathy and a lack of judgement. This is not your average body horror. It is a psychological feminist drama that will stick with you.
