Overview
In 2003, 84 year-old former soldier Kimani Maruge decides to return to primary school after the Kenyan government introduced universal education. But the official resistance he meets evokes bitter memories of his mistreatment at the hands of the British during the 1950s Mau Mau uprising. A brave film that confronts Kenya's dark past even as it delivers its heartwarming, very human story.
