Overview
Aki Omoshaybi’s deeply felt debut set in Portsmouth takes an honest look at young couple Jamie (Pippa Bennett-Warner) and Kyle (Omoshaybi) at the start of their blossoming relationship. Jamie is a mother determined to create a stable environment for her young son, while Kyle battles his own demons and is willing to beg, borrow or steal to impress his new love.
The growing intimacy between the pair is captured beautifully through Omoshaybi’s naturalistic lens, offering a slice of British life that manages to glow. Made with a budget of £50,000, the film went on to premiere at the 2019 London Film Festival.
