Maps to the Stars
Julianne Moore and John Cusack star in David Cronenberg’s caustic take on modern Hollywood, depicted as a nightmare world of ego and obsession.
Director: David Cronenberg
Overview
David Cronenberg turns his uncompromising vision towards the shallow and twisted world of Hollywood celebrity, depicted as a nightmare word of weird obsessions, monstrous egos and paralysing insecurities.
Bruce Wagner’s startlingly acidic script provides a fresh twist on some of Tinseltown's more familiar roles - the disturbed and delusional wannabe (Mia Wasikowska), the washed up actress desperate for a star turn (Julianne Moore) and the child star on the rocky road to oblivion (Evan Bird). Featuring further performances from Robert Pattinson, John Cusack and Sarah Gadon, Maps to the Stars is a disturbing and nightmarish satire from one of cinema's modern masters.
