Overview
Pawel Pawlikowski’s stunningly shot exploration of faith and history won the Best Film award at the 2013 BFI London Film Festival. On the eve of taking her vows, novice nun Anna is ordered by the Mother Superior to explore her family history before submitting to the church. But Anna’s only living relative seems to be the free-living, hard-drinking Wanda.
