Composed of intersecting love stories about two brokenhearted policemen (Leung and Kaneshiro) and the women they fall for, it’s funny, breathlessly inventive and dizzyingly romantic.
Gorgeous cinematography, superb acting and a killer soundtrack make this an exhilarating watch. This 4K digital restoration was undertaken from the 35mm original camera negative by the Criterion Collection in collaboration with L’Immagine Ritrovata, Jet Tone, One Cool, and 3H Sound Studio. It was supervised and approved by Wong Kar Wai. Ranked joint 88th in the 2022 Sight and Sound Great Films of All Time poll.
