Berberian Sound Studio
In 1970s Italy, a timid British sound engineer joins the crew on a violent horror film. But the disturbing world of the film soon seeps into reality.
Drama 2011 92 mins
Director: Peter Strickland
Overview
Gilderoy (Toby Jones) is a skilled but mild-mannered English sound recordist who travels to Italy to work on a shockingly bloody horror film. Shocked and bewildered by the film and his colleagues, he grows increasingly uneasy as the fiction begins to worm into reality. Peter Strickland's second feature is an innovative study of film form and an atmospheric homage to Italian 'giallo' horror.
