Pembrokeshire - May & August 1953
A chance to experience the beauties of the Pembrokeshire coast (and a Standard Vanguard car) in the company of the Pym family from Bristol.
From the collection of:

Overview
The Pym family have arrived in their Standard Vanguard car and placed their caravan, a tent for the boys and a toilet facility in a field full of hay stooks at Upper Porthmawr Farm, situated below Carn Llidi and overlooking Whitesands Bay. It is a wonderful setting for a holiday on which the August sun shines. In May, the Pym parents holiday-ed in the caravan alone and walked the coast path blooming with spring squill and thrift (footage of which follows the family holiday).
Arnold Pym was chief accountant at Imperial Tobacco, Bristol, his wife Jenny (nee Zaaijer) a botanist. Together they bought Parsonage Farm, Publow, near Pensford, Bristol, in the 1930s and created a garden of note there as well as bringing up four children - Michael (b. 1936), Frances (b.1938), John (b.1944) and Andrew (b.1946). They holidayed regularly at Whitesands Bay.
