Overview
Views of Hawarden, Flintshire, childhood home of footballer Michael Owen (b.1979) and home to the adult William Gladstone (1809-98), Liberal prime minister of Britain four times over. Gladstone lived at Hawarden Castle, the family home of his wife Catherine Glynne, and bequeathed his extensive library to the village. Not a bad place to live, apparently, as it appeared on The Sunday Time’s annual Best Places to Live List in 2014.
