Overview
This proficiently made amateur film shows India from a British perspective, with intertitles such as “Town and Country teem with interest to the Western onlooker”; Karachi, now in Pakistan, is described as “India’s Croydon”. The footage includes everyday domestic and working life in the towns and countryside. There are also shots of small demonstrations by supporters of Gandhi; Hindu festivals and temples; and western aircraft and locomotives being unloaded at an Indian dockside.
