Through Fires of Persecution
A highly unusual docudrama, set in Tiruchirappalli, South India and filmed by a Methodist minister.
Overview
Now this is unusual: a fable of faith filmed by a missionary minister in South India. A silent docudrama apparently based on real incidents in Tiruchirappalli, it tells the story of the trials faced by Christian converts. It’s one of many films made by the Methodist Missionary Society, active in numerous British colonies – they were effectively amateur productions but had distribution through Methodist networks.
