Overview

Joyce Hayward's charming and nicely photographed film set on a farm at Staplefield, West Sussex, concentrates on showing us the work involved, and the variety of machinery that's used in gathering in the wheat harvest. A conveyor is used to stack straw bales in a barn after they've been collected from the fields. A combine harvester works the fields, filling a trailer with grain as it goes. Finally, After more baling, we see a second conveyor sucking the grain up into a silo.
