Overview

In the afternoon on August Bank Holiday Monday in 1974, amateur filmmaker Mr J. Game of Downham Market, a member of the West Norfolk Cine Club, visited nearby Methwold, recording on film summer fete activities. West Norfolk’s agricultural heritage draws a crowd with a demonstration of a great traction engine. A brass band entertains the visitors and there is a balloon race, trampolining, fancy dress, pony rides, Punch and Judy show, and sports races and games.
