Making hay while the sun shines - a look at different methods of harvesting in Lancashire.
A stream flows down from the heights of Musbury Tor, in Rossendale, Lancashire, in this beautifully shot colour film; as it descends and widens, the countryside changes from wild moor to peaceful farmland. We then see a demonstration of hay harvesting methods at the Great House Experimental Farm in Helmshore, set up in 1949 by the Ministry of Agriculture to conduct important farming experiments.
