Overview
The narrator directly addresses the viewer from the start, asking ‘Got a stamp on you?....No?’, introducing shots of a long queue at a Post Office counter, which is static because a man is having several packages weighed and registered. People in the queue are shown eating, knitting and playing cards just to pass the time. The man in the bowler hat is particularly worth watching! This scenario is contrasted with the ease and convenience of buying a book of stamps and posting your letter at a convenient post box without visiting the Post Office to buy stamps singly - summed up in the slogan ’Buy Stamps in books!’
