West End Pier, Morecambe
A stunning seaside snapshot of Edwardian high-fashion on Morecambe's West End Pier.
Overview
Morecambe's West End Pier is a hive of high fashion in this lovely seaside snapshot by Edwardian pioneers Mitchell & Kenyon. Genteel promenaders parade for the camera, showing off their grand outfits: men in top hats and boaters, women swathed in lace and a boy in a silk sailor suit. The mood is surprisingly formal - a marked contrast to M&K's lively Parade on West End Pier, shot the same season.
