A smartly-dressed congregation disperses after a service.
It's possible that this well-dressed congregation had attended a service to commemorate the return of the Manchester Volunteers from service in the Boer War. We know that such a service was held at the cathedral in May 1901, but the exact date of this film is unknown, so leaving to guess. The churchgoers leave the 15th century cathedral by it's newer south porch, built in 1891.
