John Glyn Jones, the son of a sea captain who, returning to dry land, ran a general store in Nefyn, initially had ideas of becoming a professional viola player but became a doctor (a GP), as his mother wished, and lived in Brynsiencyn. Having inherited film-making equipment from his uncle Robert [always known as Robin] J Jones of Nefyn, a pharmacist, he filmed a number of local, as well as family events from the 1950s to the 1970s. Two young girls seen in this film went on to become writers: Annes Glynn, eldest daughter of the film-maker, and Mary Annes Payne who is seen as a young bridesmaid in wedding no. 4.
