The Box is a major cultural and heritage attraction and archive, which opened in Plymouth’s city centre in September 2020. Its collection, formally the South West Film and Television Archive (SWFTA), is the regional film archive for the South West of England, comprising the combined programme libraries of Westward Television and Television South West (TSW). It also includes a significant number of donated film collections dating back to the early 1890s.

Minehead AFC player-manager Bob Boyd is interviewed by Westward TV’s Chris Fear; “I don’t think we should beat Exeter at all” he says. This is the day before the FA Cup second round match which is played on 17th December 1977. Bob Boyd led Minehead FC into the Southern League in the 1970s and the team were considered the top non-league club in the country. Bob Boyd went on to manage Bath City, Frome Town and Mangotsfield United and became the Director of Bristol City FC.
Minehead AFC form in 1889, join the Western League from 1924 until 1928 and become semi-professional in 1950 after joining the Western League in the previous season. They stay for 23 seasons. They climb to the top of League Division One but lose an FA Cup match to Shrewsbury Town in 1971 and shortly after are relegated to the Second Division. They join the Southern League in 1972. The club has been battling between League Division One and the Western League Premier Division ever since. Minehead AFC play at the recreation ground at Irnham Road in Minehead, Somerset.
