Our Club Magazine No. 30
Bourton on the Water's mini-me model village is just one highlight of this bumper issue of a cinemagazine for kids.
Overview
Good clean fun is had by all in this entertaining issue of a cinema club magazine for kids. There's swimming and sporting rivalry between two Regal Cinema youth football teams, Edmonton and Norwood. Creative North Shields members have a go at plaster modelling of their favourite cartoon characters, and a group of youngsters visit the famous model village at Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds.
Our Club Magazine was a cinemagazine series for children which ran for 58 issues between 1945 and 1950. It was made by Wallace Film Productions on behalf of the Children's Educational Film Department (CEF), a division of Gaumont British Instructional and the Rank Corporation. Part education, part entertainment, the films were a popular feature of the children's cinema club programme at the Odeon and Gaumont chains. Part of their appeal to young audiences was undoubtedly seeing other club members of similar age and interests on screen.
