Nordzee upside down - divers assess Dutch Trawler capsized in Plymouth Sound

This film shows Royal Marine divers assessing the Sch 106 Noordzee trawler in Plymouth Sound. On 15 January 1979 the Noordzee trawler capsized off the coast of Plymouth, England and partially sank. The skipper Nico de Niet returned to the Hook of Holland unscathed the following day.

On January 13 1972 Sch 110 Ali collided with the Austrian ship Salzachtal and was badly damaged. Once salvaged, it was rebuilt and renamed Sch 106 Noordzee. The trawler was built by T. Duijvendijk’s Shipyard for the Jaczon Scheveningen Shipping Company in the Netherlands.
