The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
An excellent example of the 'local topical' in which enterprising cinema owners corralled as many people as possible in front of the camera and then sold them tickets to see themselves up on the big screen. You too could be a star of the silver screen! This film was shot in Coalville in Leicestershire and impresses with some inventive bicycle powered carnival floats, children in fancy dress and a display of gurning that seems a little too permanent.
