Overview
Rich colour footage of sports day at Dagenham’s Telephone Cables Ltd in the 1950s. The company owned a large sports ground behind the Cross Keys pub on Crown Street and held regular social events running several sports teams. This film starts with a sack race – note the winner, who, outrageously, runs – as well as a children’s puppet show, football and prize giving. Taken from the Telephone Cables collection.
