Overview
Post-war Eastbourne features on this remarkable colour film from 1946. Despite the continuation of rationing and austerity the holiday-makers in this film seem determined to have a good time at the elegant resort. We see the family cavorting on the beach as well as in the water. They also tour the surrounding countryside in their cars, despite petrol-rationing, travelling up to Beachy Head and down to Birling Gap before taking a final dip in the sea back at Eastbourne.
