FA Challenge Cup: Aston Villa v. Huddersfield Town

Aston Villa see off Huddersfield in the first FA Cup final since the end of WWI.

Non-Fiction 1920 2 mins Silent

Overview

It was the first FA Cup final since WWI stopped play in 1915: apparently a perfect excuse to don a woman's hat and swig from a large bottle of beer for one fan captured by the Topical Budget newsreel cameras. A capacity crowd had gathered at Stamford Bridge on this grey spring day to see Aston Villa take on Huddersfield FC. Huddersfield had been on a great run of form that would see them promoted to Division One for the first time in their history, but Billy Kirton's looping header from a corner settled the tie and Villa picked up the trophy for the sixth time.
