Overview

Noise pollution was a big issue in the 1960s: from the whine of the jet engine to the ever increasing throb of traffic. In the summer of 1965 in Smethwick there was a drive to reduce this issue by separating families with (noisy) children from those without. Gwyn Richards investigates for ATV Today discovering that although some would benefit from a quieter life at least one person can foresee a ghetto for the old and childless.
