The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
Part filmed in characteristically unreal Dufaycolor by Reginald Patterson this intriguing home movie compilation takes us back to a bright and colourful pre-war Britain. From the juvenile jazz bands and Romany dancers on carnival day to an elephant ride at Dudley Zoo alongside the 'bread and butter' of the home movie: the sports day, trips to the seaside and starring roles for the much loved family pets.
