Lisa Cholodenko (Masterclass)
Lisa Cholodenko talks with pride and passion about her brilliant feature, The Kids Are All Right, and her wider career as editor, writer and director.
Overview
Art and profit rarely meet in cinema, but Lisa Cholodenko achieved it in her acclaimed tale, The Kids Are All Right. Harmony over compromise is a common theme, as she recuts the movie to reflect critics' feedback and has a novel way of ensuring a key moment survived ("Joni Mitchell", we are told, "does not do discounts."). She talks with warmth and wisdom about a career that delights and inspires.
Cholodenko is interview by Briony Hanson from The Script Factory whom, it transpires, helped her along many years earlier.
