Filmed by Claude Lanzmann during the preparation of what would become his legendary documentary Shoah, The Four Sisters is based on interviews with four extraordinary and courageous women and their gripping accounts of their experiences during the Holocaust. In this first episode, Ruth Elias, a native of Czechoslovakia recalls her journey, eight months pregnant, from the Terezin internment camp there to Auschwitz in Poland.
