Legendary Australian cricket captain Joe Darling leads his team on to the pitch
Joe Darling leads the 1899 Australian cricket team out onto College Grounds, Cheltenham, during the Aussies' tour of England. As well as the captain we see team members Victor Trumper, Ernie Jones, Hugh Trumble, James Kelly, Frank Iredale and Frank Laver.
The Australians ultimately defeated their hosts 1-0 in a closely-fought test series which featured four draws.
