It's Royal Wedding Day and the children of Portsmouth, under the watchful eye of their parents, enjoy a fancy dress competition and a street party in this film from 1981

The streets of Portsmouth are seen bedecked in bunting, flags and posters of Charles and Diana.Children in a wide variery of fancy dress, emerge from their homes and gather in the street. We see the children and their parents chatting with the compere of the fancy dress competition. Many of the children are dressed in imaginative and contemporary costumes, like a Rubik's cube. The children are then seated at a long table where cakes and ice-creams are served.
