Woodlice racing: a practice to improve fertility or an excuse for gambling?

We're not really sure what's going on here at Brockhampton but think of it as another day in the life of a local news reporter. David Eggleton is the man on the spot for ATV Today trying to make sense of a story about woodlice. The highly trained isopods, all on special diets (of course) race against each other in a stunt which is claimed to be part of an ancient fertility custom by local man John Lanfear. ATV's louse goes belly-up well before the finish line - oops!
