It was news when Mitchell & Kenyon's cameras came to town: The Oldham Daily Standard reported on 4 August 1900 from Mossley, east of Manchester, that "The showmen of moving pictures made a special big hit by visiting the town a few days previous and taking a set of pictures that very clearly depicted the moving crowd at closing time emerging on Queen Street from Messrs. Mayall's mills..."
