Overview

The wartime transportation system is acknowledged for its vital role in mobilizing Britain through the rigours of total war, utilizing the canals to ease some of the burden on the roads and railways. The second part of the film looks at wartime entertainment, featuring both Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby, as they entertain crowds at the legendary Stage Door Canteen venue in London.
