Adult education classes, mother and baby groups, musical evenings and trampolining are just some activities on show in this engaging episode from the TV magazine series This Week in Britain. Made for audiences in Canada and Australia and never seen in the UK, the programme was one of many commissioned by the government to promote British industry and culture overseas.
This government film is a public record, preserved and presented by the BFI National Archive on behalf of The National Archives, home to more than 1,000 years of British history.
