Turn-out at Metropolitan Fire Brigade Headquarters

The boys of the London Fire Brigade turn out for the cameras

Non-Fiction 1899 1 mins

Overview

Our heroes from the Southwark fire station mount an exhibition turn-out for the cameras of the Warwick Trading Company. Some men run into the station as if to alert the firemen of an emergency and the brigade gets the horse pulled engine out of the station in record time, followed by the mobile ladders. It all looks very competent.

Southwark was the main training centre for the London Fire Brigade and is quite identifiable from contemporary photographs.
