Tintern Abbey, built for the Cistercian order of monks, has proved to be a very attractive ruin since the Dissolution caused the removal of its roof and valuables and the viewer, whom the film-makers/commissioners hope is a potential tourist to the area - is exhorted to visit before Shakespeare's "old common arbitrator, Time" dissolves it completely.
