This Topical Budget newsreel captures the wreck of the liner Lochmonar on film for cinema audiences. The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company's liner ran aground in the Mersey on Wednesday 30 November 1927, and later broke in two during attempts to save her cargo - £400,000 worth of dried and canned fruit.
