The Mystic Glove
Bizarre comedy in which an overfed diner has a peculiar dream involving a spectre and magical gloves.
Comedy 1914 5 mins Silent
This bizarre comedy introduces a diner in an 'eat as much as you want' restaurant who becomes increasingly bloated as he works his way through the menu. Back at home he falls asleep and dreams of a spectre (bring on the white sheet!) who bestows a gift of magical gloves. To what end we can't be sure, as the film is sadly incomplete - but it's good fun while it lasts.
The Mystic Glove was made by the Holmfirth-based Bamforth Company, and the opening street and closing park scenes were presumably filmed in that town.
