Overview

February 1934 looks to be unseasonably mild and in a hill climb like the Colmore Trophy the weather plays a major role. Thankfully most drivers manage the ascent of this stage at Chalford in Gloucestershire successfully. Film makers W.H. Williams and his son Noel are on hand to capture one driver of an MG though. He has got into real difficulties with his car gradually slipping back down the hill despite a willing crowd and ropes being deployed.

The Colmore Trophy was organised by the Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Automobile Club. The group known as 'Sunbac' was in existence from 1908 until 2011.
