Welsh costumes and leeks are in evidence today as children at Arael School, Six Bells, Abertillery, sing during the school’s eisteddfod on a day dedicated to Wales’ patron saint.
St David’s Day - Wednesday, March 1st 1972: Tom H Davies, headteacher at Arael School, Six Bells, Abertillery records a school concert on the day and the pictures/craft work relating to Wales and the patron saint that have been made in previous weeks and are now on display. Welsh costumes and leeks (national emblems) are worn by some children. A bunch of daffodils (national flowers) also makes an appearance.
