Overview

With the aim to raise as much money as possible for their Victoria Cottage Hospital in Warrior Square, Southenders are out in force to take part or support the wonderful Carnival. It is obvious from the work done on the floats of all shapes and sizes that pass along the Parade infront of the camera, that people were dedicated to the cause and keen to ensure that this Carnival was as memorable as the last.

Local businesses made every effort to play their part in encouraging people to part with their cash including local photographer Mr Shreeve who was there with his camera. The first few frames of this film show a photographic shop which may well have been his business.
