Somersetshire Wine
Winemaking in the traditional way at Brympton d’Evercy
In partnership with:

Overview
Brympton d'Evercy or Brympton House near Yeovil in Somerset has a long history. Brympton d'Evercy has belonged to just five families, the d'Evercys, the Sydenhams, the Fanes, the Weeks (from 1992 to 2007) and the most recent owner who purchased the property in 2007. The Clive-Ponsonby-Fanes attempt to renovate the house and draw in the public, set up the vineyard and distillery for wine and apple brandy. The venture failed in 1992.
After almost 300 years of ownership the family sold Brympton d’Evercy. Brympton d’Evercy is listed in the Doomsday Book as Bruntone meaning brown enclosure. The Manor was built between 1220 and 1325 and today the gardens have a Grade II* listing. Most of the house’s contents of immense historical value were sold off in a public auction in 1956.
