At Wessex Film and Sound Archive you can see and hear history, from late Victorian times to the present day, through moving images and sound recordings. The Archive contains over 36,000 film and sound recordings relating to Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, including film and tapes of local TV and radio.

Overview
This amazing nostalgic film record of village life in Highclere and Burghclere, features a post-war rural life that has largely disappeared. It shows the local community, identifying particular personailites and also its institutions like schools, churches and the railway. A variety of agricultural and horticultural activities arer seen. The railway features prominently as do various religious festivals and summer fetes that bring the communities together.
