Salvation Army Work in India, Burma and Ceylon
Beautifully shot film showing the work of the Salvation Army in Southeast Asia, including with the Bhil tribal group
Overview
Packed with striking imagery, this beautifully shot film shows the work of the Salvation Army among the Bhil tribal group; caring for Burmese and Ceylonese children; and the work of the Catherine Booth Memorial Hospital. It also features scenes of everyday life in India, Burma (now Myanmar) and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). Conversion is the goal of the missionaries, one of whom is seen apparently coaxing a Hindu woman to give up her traditional jewellery.
