Royal Visit to Bangor (1902)
Crowds line up for a fleeting glimpse of the Prince of Wales, later George V.
Overview
Although many carriages pass by in this film, it's clear that they are distractions before the main event. A frenzy of hankie-waving announces the arrival of George, who had assumed the title of Prince of Wales the previous November. Edward VII was already in his sixties when he took the throne, so the crowds are anxious to catch a glimpse of the man who will be their future King.
